Kim R. Du Boise, the Senior Conservator & President of PhotoArts Imaging Professionals, LLC, is a peer-reviewed Professional Associate in the American Institute for Conservation of Historic and Artistic Works (AIC).
Ms. Du Boise has worked in art & photography for 40+ years while developing coursework and workshops for teaching photography and photographic processes. Kim taught art & photography at the community

college & university levels. She has a BA and MAEd from the University of Southern Mississippi and post-graduate study in the BFA and Masters level from the University of Alabama in historic and modern photographic processes & printmaking. Kim
has taken conservation business courses from the FAIC, attended symposiums & workshops on Platinum and Palladium Prints and Plastics Associated with Photography, and continues her independent research and study of acetate & nitrate based films’ deterioration and preservation.
She has presented workshops and lectured groups on the identification of of photographic materials, audio-visual media, and how to preserve these materials in archives, museum or corporate storage facilities, and family homes. Kim has published articles on archival processing of sheet films and photographs for the Historic American Buildings Survey (HABS) and how to rescue storm-damaged photos, film & audio-visual materials for the owners returning to their homes (newspapers & social media).
Kim also teaches professional development courses on MuseumStudy.com for the care and identification of photographs, film and A-V media, the proper storage materials used, and preservation environments of these diverse media.

She has spoken at the SPE South Central Region meeting twice on historic processes and the conservation of images from “Daguerreotypes to Digital”. Kim is available to travel for workshops, preservation planning surveys, and conservation surveys of collections or museum archives containing multiple types of media collections.
