Traditional photography began with a desire to capture and keep the images of people and places that could be made quickly. The search for a permanent way to make an image that could be repeated by making many copies led to the eventual development of film-based negatives and positives. From glass plate negatives and positives to the film-based negatives, the process has been one of chemistry and darkroom magic since the mid-19th century.
PhotoArts Imaging has decades of experience with multiple types and sizes of black & white and color films. Between the two principals, there are more than 60 years’ experience in exposing, developing and teaching others how to make the best negatives possible. They use several brands & types of chemistries to match the films and speeds to achieve the most stable negatives or slides. Only the freshest solutions are used at the precise temperatures to create the best image possible for printing or scanning.

PhotoArts Imaging has the ability to take a digitally restored image file and make a negative from that file. We can make 35mm or 120 mm negatives & positives (slides) up to 4×5 sheet film negatives & transparencies. These are processed in our traditional lab and then printed on RC or Fiber-base photograph enlarging papers in the size & surface quality that you want. These are great exhibition print services, too.
