Photographs are beautiful moments of timeless memories that we individually and collectively cherish of our families, our friends, our cities and other places that we care about.  They tell stories of the existence of those here & now and those ancestors that were.  We share them, love them, and want them to be here for future generations.

However, these are also fragile items that can be damaged by time, environment, accidents and mishandling, storms or other disasters.  That is when the services of a photograph and film conservator is needed to repair the effects or damages that have occurred.  You want your photograph or film to be stable, safely stored and repaired.

The trained, experienced conservator understands the various types of materials that are combined to make the original photograph, including the mounting or casings, of which there are dozens.  We examine and test the materials to best determine what to use and how to conserve or restore the images to a known state of repair.  We discuss the options with our clients and together determine what is best for the photograph’s long term stability.
